Our Laser Platform Other Alexandrite Lasers Diode Lasers Nd:YAG Lasers IPL Machines
The EpiCare system is the most powerful hair removal platform on the market. It's the most versatile due to its variable pulse duration, and it's the quickest. Finally, the laser produces exceptional beam quality which ensures equal distribution of energy from each pulse. Other Alexandrite platforms do not offer the power and speed of the EpiCare system. As such, treatments are not as effective and also take longer. No other Alex offers larger spot sizes nor can they match the beam quality of the EpiCare system. Nevertheless, they're still a cut above most other lasers for hair removal. Slightly longer wavelength than the Alexandrite, Diodes are not as effectively absorbed by the melanin in hair follicles and therefore not as effective. Also, there is greater discomfort as surrounding tissues absorb more energy from a Diode laser. In short, Diodes hurt more and are less effective, particularly on thinner and/or lighter hair. Nd:YAG lasers, or 1064 nm machines, are best suited for individuals with dark skin and black hair. As the YAG penetrates deeper into the skin, greater discomfort is experienced – particularly for lighter skin types. Our high powered Nd:YAG system produces excellent results for the right clients and is coupled with our excellent cooling technology. Intense Pulsated Light (IPL) devices aren't even lasers. They apply a broad spectrum of light on the epidermis which completely defeats the purpose of selectively targeting hair follicles. Clinical studies suggest these are the least effective devices on the market for hair removal.
